Backstreet Browser is a free application designed to help you download the content of an entire Website in one sitting and to browse offline the downloaded websites.

This is a program which allows you to strip a Website from pretty much all the items: text, video, audio, images, programs, archives. You can filter files by URL, size, type, date modified, text and gather data from files that require HTTP authentication. You can also select recursion levels, retrieval threads, timeout. Connection via proxy servers is also available.

Using the application is very simple. You can manually enter an URL or you can paste it from the clipboard and start the data extraction process. On the left side of the program window, you will see a folder tree containing the downloaded files and folder. While downloading content, the program will display the current and average download speed.

The program is very easy to use and it has a lot of options you can choose from in order to get only the content you are interested in. For example, if you are only interested in the images from a Website, you can only set the program to download images by un-checking the download of programs, archives or multimedia content. If the list of image formats does not feature a particular graphic file, you can always edit the list of file extensions.

Pluses:The options for saving projects or copying them to other locations. The possibility of viewing offline downloaded Websites. For example, this feature is useful for playing offline Flash content from a Website.
